Hana Venn Wedding Photography

One of the best aspects of being part of the wedding industry is meeting and working with other suppliers and one such supplier is Hana Venn-Richards of Hana Venn Wedding Photography

Hana’s relaxed and natural style of photography makes her a popular choice with couples who wish to have their wedding day captured as it takes place with limited formality

In 2017 we worked with Hana at 10 weddings and as you will see from the photos below her work is truly stunning. Having just returned from maternity leave, Hana still has some free dates for this year and is taking bookings for 2019 and beyond

We would highly recommend Hana so if you still need to find a photographer do get in touch with her via her website

A Memorable Winter Wedding

One year ago today we were deep in preparation for a very special day – the wedding of Sally’s daughter Vicky who married her fiancé Adam at Gate Street Barn, Bramley, Surrey.

Needless to say, there were huge expectations for the flowers which were all chosen to reflect the rustic winter theme of the wedding.

The Bridal bouquet and matching Bridesmaid bouquets consisted of the most beautiful white Anemones we have ever seen along with white Ranunculas, Silver Brunia, Senecio, Eucalyptus Populus foliage and natural pine cones. The bouquets also perfectly complimented the pewter grey dresses worn by the Bridesmaids.

Buttonholes of white Ranunculas, Silver Brunia, Rosemary, Eucalyptus Populus foliage and miniature pine cones were bound with twine to complete the rustic look.

The ceremony barn was decorated with Twisted Willow which was attached to the ends of the chairs together with white Hydrangeas and natural pine cones. Heart shaped pine cone wreaths and sacks of cinnamon scented pine cones were hung around the Barn and mixed foliage and Gypsophila were used to decorate the chandelier wheels. Lit birch trees and hurricane lamps on log slices hired from Streessfree Hire added a final finishing touch and added a warm Winter glow to the barn.

Following the ceremony, the barn was transformed for the wedding reception with tall cylinder vases surrounded by rings of pine cones and filled with arrangements of Pussy Willow, natural Birch and white Hydrangeas being placed in the centre of each table. Napkins were decorated with individual arrangements of Pussy Willow and Rosemary and miniature log slices, made by the Groom, were used to hold place and table names.

The seating plan was created with a wooden step ladder decorated with white Hydrangea filled lace bottles and an additional ladder plus a selection of wooden crates were filled with flowers to match the Bridal bouquet and in The Pheasantry a hot chocolate station created on a barrel table from Stressfree Hire with a macaron tower supplied by Queen Beas provided some welcome Winter warmth later in the day.

Whilst the wedding took place in Surrey, many of the suppliers used are Hampshire based, all having worked with Bridal Flowers Direct on a number of occasions and the day really would mot have been the same without their input.

Summer weddings will always be a popular choice for many couples, but we are definitely seeing an increase in the popularity of Winter weddings and as all the photographs courtesy of Hana Venn Photography show the colder months can be a magical time of year to get married.

Congratulations to Vicky and Adam on their first wedding anniversary this weekend and if you are planning a Winter wedding we hope this post will be inspirational.

Autumn Wedding Flower Inspiration

As the days become shorter and the countryside around us turns distinctly autumnal, we thought we would share with you some Autumn wedding flower inspiration.

Typically, when thinking of Autumn flowers we would generally recommend warm, rich colours in accents of orange, burgundy and red. We would also suggest the inclusion of a selection of berries, seedheads, pine cones and wheat for texture and interest and to add to the overall autumnal feel

Below are photos from a few of our September and October 2016 Brides who chose different but all equally very autumnal colour schemes for their wedding flowers

Hannah – 16th September 2016

Hannah’s bridal party arrangements consisted of orange Dahlias, Scabious Seedheads, yellow Craspedia Balls, dark red Hypericum Berries, cream Stocks, cream Spray Roses, Wheat, Umbrella Fern and Rosemary which all tied in beautifully with the differing shades of her Bridesmaids dresses

Anushka – 17th September 2016

Anushka chose dark red Dahlias, orange Roses, orange spray Roses, dark red Hypericum Berries, Pine Cones, Wheat and complimenting dark green foliage to tie in with the red dresses worn by her Bridesmaid’s. The theme continued into the Venue arrangements with led lights immersed in orange gel pearls creating a lovely autumnal ambience on the tables which were also scattered with oak leaves and pine cones

Hana – 6th October

We were delighted to supply the flowers for wedding photographer Hana’s wedding in October 2016. Burgundy Dahlias, Cosmos, Astrantia and Hypericum berries were mixed with peach Garden Roses, red Skimmea and berried Eucalyptus Populus foliage to create her stunning bouquet with the same flowers being used to fill beer bottles for her venue arrangements

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER’S WEDDING

One of the bonuses of working in the wedding industry is meeting fellow suppliers. One such supplier we have had the pleasure of working with on many occasions is wedding photographer Hana Venn-Richards. We were therefore honoured and delighted when Hana asked us to supply the flowers for her own wedding in October.

Hana had chosen a beautiful autumnal colour scheme of burgundy and gold and wished the relaxed atmosphere of their pub venue to be reflected in all the arrangements. Peach Garden Roses were combined with burgundy Dahlias, Scabious, Astrantia, red Skimmea, dark red Hypericum berries, brown Cosmos and Eucalyptus Populus foliage. Brown beer bottles which Hana and Matt had collected, with the help of family and friends, were filled with the same flowers and foliage and placed around the pub.

Following her wedding, Hana wrote us this lovely review –

“MY FLOWERS WERE INCREDIBLE!!!! Absolutely blew my mind. I was a little bridezilla about them (sorry…), but Sally was incredible, and seriously I didn’t need to worry! Clare is a flower creation genius, and honestly, they are better than I could have even imagined. I hardly put them down all day, people were talking about them more than me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!”

HAPPY EASTER

What an exceptionally busy week it has been and it seems hardly possible that it is already almost a week since our Bridal Flower Open Day.

We were inundated with visitors all day which was so pleasing to see. It was such a pleasure to meet up with couples who have already booked us to supply the flowers for their wedding and to catch up with couples we have previously met at wedding fayres and who were visiting our premises for the first time and who would now like us to quote for their 2016 and 2017 weddings.

For all of you who are still waiting to hear back from us with your quote or re-quote we apologise for the delay. Generally speaking we endeavour to get these out within the week but our Easter weekend weddings have naturally had to take priority but we will be back in touch next week.

Our diary is now pretty fully booked  with consultations for the next few weekends but if you would still like to book a consultation to discuss your wedding flowers with us do please get in touch.

Below are just a few snapshots of the Open Day which we hope you will enjoy. If you were unable to make the Open Day last weekend out next one is scheduled to take place on Saturday 15th October 2016.

We are always delighted to also be joined at our Open Days by some other local wedding suppliers we work very closely with and the photographs below taken by Adam De Ste-Croix of Sainte-Croix Wedding Photography show our flowers and their products beautifully

Carros Cakes, Lila Anna Rose Stationery, Eliza Mabel Bridesmaid Dresses & Accessories, Queen Bees Macarons & Sweet Treats, Hana Venn Photography

We wish you all a very Happy Easter weekend and look forward to working with you in the lead up to your weddings
