On a cold, wet, windy August day the only option to remind us that we did briefly have a Summer is to look back at some photographs from one of our early July weddings.
Anna and James had originally attended one of our Bridal Flower Open Days at which they outlined the plans for their wedding which was to take place at Duncton Mill, a beautiful location on the West Sussex border. They were to have an outdoor ceremony conducted by a family member followed by a reception in a tipi next to the lake.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding Anna and James worked tirelessly to create the wedding of their dreams with the flowers being an integral part of their plans. Their brief was for us to create a look which reflected the outdoor theme of the wedding using primarily country meadow style flowers. Anna wished her bouquet to be made from the same flowers with bouquets of just daisies for the Bridesmaids. The buttonholes were then made from a mixed selection of flowers and bound with natural raffia. Jam jars were attached to shepherds crooks to line the aisle and were also placed along the guest tables in the tipi.
As you will see from the photographs below taken by Zara Price Photography the overall finished look was stunning and a testament to all the hard work by everyone involved. Following the wedding we received these lovely words from Anna
What can I say! The flowers were absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for all your time helping me and for helping on the day. James said that it was all very rushed on the morning and he could not have done it without you!
There are many delights to our work but the best part is working with lovely couples as they plan one of the most important days of their lives so it really is a pleasure when we receive thank you letters expressing their delight at the flowers we have supplied for their weddings. Below are just a few we have received in the past couple of weeks which we are extremely proud to share with you.
What can I say! The flowers were absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for all your time helping me and for helping on the day.
It was interesting getting to know a few different types of flowers and I will always think of you and your patience whenever I see the many flowers we discussed.
Dear Clare and Sally
The flowers were magnificent and when I saw those huge boxes I wondered how we were going to use them all. However, we did. All that remained was some gyp and eucalyptus. The blooms were much admired. So thank you for all your efforts and organisation. My friends did the pedestals and I did the arch and the matrix you created was really helpful in sorting out the flowers.
Everything went well and the flowers were simply stunning!
Thanks Mr and Mrs D!
Billy and I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the hard work you and your team put into our wedding flowers! We absolutely loved our day and the flowers just looked stunning. And thank you for surprising us with the flowers out on the terrace, this made the outside space that little bit more special 🙂
Just a quick note to say thank you for our wedding flowers on Saturday. They were absolutely stunning and everyone thought so!
It was a very carefree process and you made it so easy.
I am currently admiring having a home full of flowers now 🙂

We love it when Brides send in photographs from their weddings and these stunning ones from the May wedding of Emma and Dan are no exception. The wedding which took place at Earnley Grange, Earnley, Nr Chichester, West Sussex was pretty much a DIY wedding so whilst we made all the Bridal Party arrangements Emma had also ordered cut flowers from us to create her own venue arrangements.
Sweet Avalanche Roses and pale pink Hydrangeas, which complimented the Bridesmaid’s dresses, were combined with Tanacetum Daisies and Gypsophila to add to the summery country look.
The stunning photographs below were all taken by Katy Cain
There really is no better way to start off a busy week than to receive such a lovely testimonial. The Mother of the Bride who wrote this had ordered flowers from us to be delivered via our overnight delivery service and as you will see was extremely delighted with both the flowers and the service she received.
“A big thank you to Bridal Flowers Direct. The quality of the flowers you supplied was excellent. I got all the help I needed promptly when I phoned or emailed and I certainly felt that my queries received time and patience and that nothing was too much trouble for you to deal with, even my trivial questions. I felt you were giving me a personal service and that my request mattered to you. I also was of the opinion that there was loads of help and advice in reserve if I needed it.
My daughter and a friend arranged the flowers themselves and we were all pleased with the result. Thanks again for the service you provide.”
If you are planning your own DIY wedding flowers please do get in touch as we are more than happy to give as much or as little help and advice as you may need.
We love these photographs sent into us by Kimberley and Josh who were recently married at Southdowns Manor, a stunning wedding venue set in the heart of the South Downs National Park on the Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex borders.
Kimberley had selected Tanacetum Daisies, Gypsophila, Craspedia and Alchemilla Mollis for all the Bouquets and Buttonholes with larger daisy style flowers being used for the Flower Girls Headdresses and to decorate the cake.
Congratulations and every future happiness to the new Mr & Mrs Blackburn.
